Assistant Professor, 2025 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators recipient

Dr. Beth Pratt is the associate director for Canines Providing Assistance to Wounded Warriors (C.-P.A.W.W.), a health research initiative for veterans, part of the Florida Atlantic Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention (I-HEALTH). Her research focuses on complementary and integrative approaches to improve health outcomes for veterans with trauma-related conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), and their families. Her current research projects include a multi-state Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute Dissemination and Implementation Initiative project to disseminate evidence-based psychological and pharmacological treatments for PTSD to veterans and community stakeholders. Dr. Pratt is also co-author of a qualitative study exploring the lived experiences of family caregivers and the emotional and physical toll of caring for a relative with alcohol use disorder.
