Created in partnership with Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, brings a mobile “garden classroom” to schools and community sites across Martin County to teach families about growing and eating fresh produce.
Cleveland Clinic Florida is making a multi-year investment to fight hunger and improve access to nutritious food across South Florida, treating food security as a core part of its community health strategy rather than a standalone social issue.
In 2026, the health system announced targeted community investments to support food security initiatives in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties as part of a broader five-year, 50-million-dollar enterprise commitment to reduce hunger and improve access to healthy food. Locally, that commitment is being delivered through partnerships with trusted community organizations that know their neighborhoods best.
In Broward County, Cleveland Clinic Florida is supporting Meals on Wheels South Florida and Mobile School Pantry, helping expand home-delivered meals for seniors and school-based food distributions for children and families. In Palm Beach County, funding is directed to partners such as Quantum Foundation and Feeding the Hungry to strengthen pantry operations and increase access to fresh, nutritious food for residents facing economic hardship. On the Treasure Coast, support for organizations including House of Hope and the Council on Aging of Martin County in Martin County, Mustard Seed Ministries and Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County in St. Lucie County, and United Against Poverty Indian River, Senior Resource Association and The Hope for Families Center in Indian River County is helping reach more families, older adults and children with reliable food access.
Hospital leaders note that food insecurity shows up every day in clinical settings, often in the form of poorly controlled chronic disease, preventable hospitalizations and difficulty following treatment plans. By investing in partners that can provide consistent access to fresh food and pantry staples, Cleveland Clinic Florida is working to address one of the upstream drivers of poor health outcomes and reduce some of the barriers patients face outside the hospital walls.
These 2026 investments build on Cleveland Clinic’s previous commitments to strengthen food security, including earlier support for regional food banks and community-based programs. Across South Florida, the goal is to ensure that more families, seniors and children can count on having healthy food on the table—an essential foundation for better health, improved quality of life and more equitable outcomes in the communities Cleveland Clinic serves.
For Cleveland Clinic Florida, advancing food security has become a natural extension of its mission: caring for patients, supporting caregivers and improving the health of the communities it calls home.
