Hundreds gathered at the Marriot Harbor Beach Resort & Spa on Friday, November 9, to mark Cleveland Clinic Florida’s 30th anniversary and celebrate a year of growth, including the recent expansion of the #1 ranked hospital in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market by U.S. News & World Report and the summer opening of the Coral Springs Family Health Center.
The evening festivities included honoring Cleveland Clinic Florida’s five Master Clinicians: Viviane Connor, M.D., John Donohue, M.D., Dalia McCoy, M.D., Preetesh Patel, M.D., and Raul Rosenthal, M.D. They were recognized for their lifelong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and educating young and future physicians and caregivers.
“Cleveland Clinic Florida’s growth over these past three decades is a result of the high-quality, collaborative and compassionate care our caregivers provide patients and the communities we are proud to serve,” said Wael Barsoum, M.D., CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic Florida. “We are grateful to our donors and patients for their support and excited that so many came out to help us celebrate this milestone year.”
Proceeds from the Celebrate! event will support further expansion of Cleveland Clinic Florida with the creation of the Lozick Women’s Center on its Weston campus. Fully funded through philanthropy, the center will be dedicated to the screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Patients will have access to unique services and offerings from complementary therapies and nutrition guidance, to comprehensive psychotherapy and holistic, patient-centered care.
Celebrate! featured live entertainment and dancing, epicurean stations, hand-crafted cocktails, and a live auction. It was organized by host committee members Glenda Abbate, Michelle Barsoum, Rita and Rick Case, Angelica Guckes, Fay Kline, Monica Maroone, Debbie Menten, Andrew Perez and Lili Perez Silva, Mayor Daniel J. Stermer, Randy, Kim and Chase Sweers, and Eberto Vitier.
