Junming Le, Ph.D., and his wife Iris Le have made two major capital contributions to Cleveland Clinic Florida this year through the Iris & Junming Le Foundation totaling more than $500,000.
The Le Foundation gifts funded the purchase of two pieces of state-of-the-art technology: the CUSA NXT Ultrasonic Tissue Ablation System allows for the launch of a Living Donor Liver Transplant program at Cleveland Clinic Florida; and the ROSA 3.0 surgical robot advances its epilepsy surgery program.
Dr. Junming Le, an adjunct associate professor of microbiology at New York University School of Medicine, is co-inventor of Remicade, a medication that revolutionized the treatment of autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease. With royalties from Remicade, the Le Foundation was established in 2006 to further medical research and patient care.
