Transplant surgeon Jiro Kusakabe, M.D., has joined Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital. He has expertise in abdominal transplant surgery and a robust background in gastroenterological and cancer therapies.

After earning his medical degree at Kyoto University in Japan, Dr. Kusakabe completed his residency in general surgery at Kobe City Medical Center, followed by another residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. He further honed his skills through a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Rodrigo Navarro-Ramirez, M.D., a distinguished neurosurgeon and spine surgeon, has also joined Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital. He completed his medical education at the School of Medicine, UNAM in Mexico City, Mexico. Dr. Navarro-Ramirez has an extensive postgraduate training background, including fellowships in minimally invasive spine surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, NY; neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD; and adult and pediatric scoliosis at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Dr. Navarro-Ramirez’s specialty interests include minimally invasive spine surgery; robotics, navigation, and artificial intelligence in spine surgery; motion preservation spine surgery; awake spine surgery in adults and elderly patients; adult and pediatric scoliosis surgery; neuro-oncology; scoliosis surgery; and biologic intervertebral disc regeneration.
