Coral Gables Hospital is proud to achieve the “Greenhealth Partner for Change Award” from Practice Greenhealth. This award recognizes Coral Gables Hospital’s superior performance in environmental sustainability.
Coral Gables Hospital received the Greenhealth Partner for Change Award for continually making environmental improvements and upholding green standards. The hospital participates in an integrated solid waste recycling program with Stericycle, which allows employees to recycle batteries, cardboard, paper, plastic, aluminum, steel cans, computers, electronics and fluorescent lamps. By contributing to this recycling program, the hospital reduces the amount of solid waste it generates. Coral Gables Hospital also takes part in a reusable pharmaceutical waste container program, which effectively reduces the amount of cardboard and plastic materials the hospital receives each day.
