MIAMI, FL, USA, March 5, 2024 – The Dade County Medical Association (DCMA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Residents and Medical Students Research Competition, held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Pullman Miami Airport. Participants were selected by a panel of judges from a pool of 68 submissions presented by residents, fellows, and medical students.
Dr. Carmel Barrau, MD, President of the DCMA, delivered welcome remarks and emphasized the significance of the event. “The Dade County Medical Association has been organizing this competition for the past five years because we believe that students, residents, and fellows should have a platform to showcase their research and work. It also provides an opportunity to undergo a peer review, fostering a broader perspective on medicine,” expressed Dr. Barrau.
The competition showcased the research and clinical case reports of talented finalists before a distinguished panel of judges that included Patricia Ares-Romero, M.D., Carmel Barrau, M.D., Adriana Bonansea-Frances, M.D. Rafael J. Fernandez, M.D., Jorge Marcos, M.D., Eneida Roldan, M.D., and Marcos Sanchez, M.D. The event provided a platform for medical residents and students to present their work and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.
