January 29, 2024 – Heather Havericak is named to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Delray Medical Center. In this role, Havericak will manage daily operations and oversee the development and implementation of long-range plans, goals and objectives for the hospital.

Havericak comes to Delray Medical Center from Broward Health, where she served in a variety of leadership roles within the system for 17 years. She spent the last four years of her tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the system’s flagship facility, Broward Health Medical Center, which includes the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital. Under her leadership, the organization expanded key service lines including robotics, neurosciences, oncology, women and children’s services, and cardiology. She has also held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Associate Vice President of Strategic and Administrative Services, Regional Director of the Hospital’s strategic service lines, and Nurse Manager of the Pediatric Oncology and Sickle Cell Transition Program and Pediatric Palliative Care.
“I am thrilled to take on this new role as the Chief Operating Officer at Delray Medical Center and contribute to the hospital’s success and make a positive impact on patient care,” Havericak said.
Havericak earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Florida International University and her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Indiana State University. Always involved in the community, she has served on a variety of nonprofit organization boards, including the South Florida Chapter of the American Heart Association, Gilda’s Club South Florida and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Havericak was named to the list of South Florida Business Journal’s Power Leaders in Healthcare in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
