Delray Medical Center is pleased to announce the expansion of its cardiac services with the opening of the new Valve Clinic. The new Valve Clinic allows Delray Medical Center to better serve the community by uniting interventional cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons to evaluate and treat complex heart valve disorders through a multidisciplinary approach all in one place.
The Valve Clinic evaluates the extent of heart valve disease and recommends options for treatment. These options may include minimally invasive procedures which may reduce pain and recovery time, allowing patients to get back to their lives sooner.
The Valve Clinic sees a variety of patients including those with a heart murmur, stenosis, regurgitation or any condition affecting the aortic or mitral valve. Patients may experience symptoms differently depending on severity and the type of heart valve disease, but they can include: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, dizziness, low or high blood pressure and shortness of breath. A doctor’s diagnosis is essential because heart valve disease may appear to be another medical condition.
