Douglas A. Zaren has been named Chief Operating Officer of Florida Medical Center. Previously, since 1999, Zaren served as Associate Administrator of Gulf Coast Medical Center and Administrator of Gulf Oaks Hospital in Biloxi, MS.

Zaren has also served in several leadership positions across the country for the U.S. armed forces, including Administrator at the outpatient Naval Ambulatory Care Center in Gulfport, MS, Medical Intelligence Planner at the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Atlantic Division in Jacksonville, NC, and Performance Improvement Coordinator at the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan.

Zaren earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of West Florida and his Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from Central Michigan University.
