Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) congratulates Fernando Bayron, M.D., FACS, for recently completing his 2,000 robotic surgery case, an exemplary feat in general surgery care. Dr. Bayron performs robotic-assisted abdominal procedures using the da Vinci XI Surgical System by Intuitive at Florida Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Bayron is a proctor for surgeons training on the da Vinci Surgical System, and Florida Medical Center is an Intuitive approved epicenter visit site.
 
“The robotically assisted surgical system is an instrument we use to perform general surgery cases and also a 3D computer interface console between the surgeon and patient. Robotic surgery technology helps to correct any human limitations in regards to movement and visualization including an augmented reality where contrast, colors and organs are easier to conceptualize,” said Dr. Bayron.
 
Dr. Bayron performs numerous general surgery procedures robotically with the da Vinci XI Surgical System including inguinal and ventral hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, reflux surgery and colon resection surgery. Additionally, Dr. Bayron uses the robotic surgical system for gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and revisional bariatric surgery procedures.
