Michael A. Chizner, MD, FACP, FACC, FAHA, has made it his life’s work to advance the discipline of cardiology, medical education, clinical research and state-of-the-art patient care. After his longtime role as Founder and Chief Medical Director of The Heart Center of Excellence and Founding Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Broward Health, Dr. Chizner has decided to reaffirm his dedication and commitment to the medical community by opening a private practice in East Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. Chizner is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University, and Barry University. Dr. Chizner graduated with highest honors from the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University where he was selected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
He received his residency training in Internal Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, and his cardiology fellowship training with legendary cardiologist, W. Proctor Harvey, M.D., at Georgetown University, where he was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
