Dr. Nabil El Sanadi, chief of emergency medicine for Broward Health, was chosen to receive the Florida Medical Association’s 2011 Roy M. Baker Emergency Medical Services Award.Established in 1995, this award is given to a physician or layperson whose efforts have greatly contributed to protecting the health and safety of citizens of their community, either in preparation of, or during the time of, a natural or caused disaster. El Sanadi was given this honor in recognition of his service as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) medical director the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services. As EMS medical director he manages firefighter and paramedic field protocols, oversees quality assurance, gives lectures and supervises EMS education.
