Leon Melnitsky, D.O., FACEP, has dedicated 18 years to emergency medicine at Memorial Hospital West, where he serves as Chief of Emergency Medicine. Known for his leadership, compassion, and “BeastMode” commitment to patient care, Dr. Melnitsky has built a culture centered on teamwork, excellence and service.
A graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, he is deeply passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians as Program Director for the Memorial Healthcare System Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Colleagues describe him as a physician who leads with humility, strength and heart in even the most high-pressure moments while fostering a strong “professional family” culture within the Emergency Department.
