More than 500 business owners and merchants recently attended the North Broward Hospital District’s Tenth Annual Minority Business Enterprise Expo to learn more about doing business with one of Broward County’s largest organizations. Each year, the District buys supplies, equipment and services necessary to operate four hospitals and dozens of primary and specialty care facilities. The expo is designed to inform vendors and potential vendors of the District’s needs and to provide a preview of some of the purchases planned for the future.

Present at the Expo are: (l-r) Art Wallace, vice president of finance; Samuel E. Mathis, Jr., vice president/chief diversity officer; Jasmin Shirley, vice president of ambulatory services/health systems development; Congressman Alcee Hastings; and Dionne Wong, vice president/chief human resources officer, NBHD.
