Broward Health Imperial Point

Alfredo Guevara
Director of Finance

Alfredo Guevara, director of finance, uses his military background and a love of numbers to lead Broward Health Imperial Point’s Finance Department. Numbers were a constant discussion in Alfredo’s childhood home, where his mother was an accountant and taught him early on about the importance of understanding credit and proper use of money.

After graduating high school, Guevara joined the United States Army. For four years he served as an armored crewman, driving battle tanks based in Fort Riley Kansas with overseas duties in Germany. He later became commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the intelligence division serving an 18-month deployment to Iraq in 2006 and was awarded a Bronze Star for exceptional service.

Alfredo enrolled at Florida International University after active duty and received a bachelor’s degree in finance, along with a minor in military science. While attending FIU he began a 14-year career at Miami Children’s Hospital, where he was promoted through the ranks to the Director of Finance. He has also held positions with Broward Health Physician Group and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Guevara chose the healthcare industry because he finds patient satisfaction rewarding. In his spare time, he enjoys paddle boarding, surfing and traveling the world with his wife. Together they have visited over 35 countries.
