Florida Medical Center is transforming healthcare delivery with the development of its satellite Emergency Care Center in Broward County. The Emergency Care Center will be open 24 hours, seven days a week and offers the same capabilities as a traditional emergency room. It will be equipped and staffed to treat emergent medical conditions, such as lacerations, orthopedic and sports injuries, dehydration, abdominal pain, respiratory problems, head injuries and more. Patients will have access to the same board certified doctors and medical staff at Florida Medical Center, with access to industry leading specialty physicians.
The 13,626-square-foot Emergency Care Center will house 11 treatment rooms on the first floor and will also be equipped with advanced imaging technology, such as a state-of-the-art low-dose 128 slice CT scanner, ultrasound and X-ray equipment. The second floor of the building will house the Imaging Center of West Broward, an expansion of the facility in Sunrise, which will offer CAT scans and coronary computed tomography angiograms (CTAs).
