42^nd annual event features Audra McDonald and toasts support for Palm Beach County seniors

December  17, 2025  – MorseLife Health System celebrated its 42nd anniversary Dec. 12 with Broadway icon Audra McDonald headlining its “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” event at The Breakers. More than 300 donors and corporate and community partners gathered in the Mediterranean Ballroom, transformed with deep red draping and lush, velvety rose centerpieces, embodying the celebration’s vibrant theme.

Following a lively cocktail reception, Board Chairman David S. Mack welcomed guests, sharing reflections on MorseLife’s founding and how more than four decades ago his father and a few friends saw a need—a place where seniors in our community could live with dignity, comfort and care. From that vision, MorseLife was born and is now one of the top senior care organizations in the country.

“To me what truly matters is what they think of us – the family members, the patients, the staff,” said Leena Geeverghese, Senior Vice President of Clinical Services in a welcome video showcasing MorseLife team members, senior residents and senior programs in action. “Do they genuinely feel cared for? That feeling is what makes MorseLife not just a provider, but a community treasure. We are an organization that transforms daily care into a living example of values, respect and excellence. That leaves a lasting mark in the community and that’s what MorseLife is all about.”

The evening’s theme blossomed through the menu, beginning with a first course of smoked salmon artfully presented as roses, crowned with a golden egg, crème fraîche, caviar, petite lettuces, sliced cucumber in champagne vinaigrette and toast points. Guests enjoyed their choice of grilled branzino or filet mignon and The Breakers’ signature ice cream sundae was the cherry on top of an exquisite meal.

The rosy celebration featured a 45-minute concert with McDonald, a six-time Tony Award winner with two Grammys and an Emmy, who delivered a set of Broadway and American songbook favorites. Highlights included “I Could Have Danced All Night,” which turned into a crowd sing-along, “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Green,” “Make Someone Happy” and a finale of “Cabaret,” from the namesake musical.

“Audra’s playlist was intentional and her messages and storytelling about being kind, being supportive of others, being the good in the world and trying to make someone happy really resonated with our guests,” said Ashley Robinson Vice President of Events at MorseLife Health System. “Each year, we challenge ourselves to bring the very best to our stage because this evening is our opportunity to honor the donors and friends who share our passion for helping seniors. I truly believe the MorseLife team embodies Audra’s message of kindness and bringing good into the world. It’s a practice many of them try to do each and every day when they show up on campus or go out to work in our community and that is what makes me proud and honored to be part of this incredible organization.”
