November 4, 2024 – Hollywood, FL – Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida celebrated an inspiring afternoon of recognition and honor at the annual Emerald Awards – Broward County luncheon. This prestigious event honored five outstanding women, including Kathy Salerno, Executive Director of Community Relations for Broward Health and Stacy Acquita, Regional Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs for HCA Florida Healthcare, who have shown remarkable leadership in their fields, setting exemplary standards for young women in the community. With more than 170 guests in attendance, the event raised more than $65,000 to support Girl Scout programs and leadership experiences for girls.

The Emerald Awards spotlight individuals who breathe life into new ideas, exhibit creative problem-solving skills, and bring innovation to their fields or communities. This year’s honorees exemplify the qualities of today’s problem solvers, dreamers, changemakers, and doers.  In addition to Salerno and Acquista, also honored were Ashley Boxer, The Boxer Strategy; Community Advocate Lori Glassman; and Jennifer Little, Little’s Photography.

The afternoon featured a silent auction and cocktail reception for networking, leading to an awards ceremony and panel discussion where honorees shared their stories of leadership and community engagement.

The Emerald Awards – Broward County was organized by an exceptional host committee led by honorary event chair Ellice Martinez, and committee members Malka Cabral, Kimberly Kisslan, Robin Mason, Jennifer Montalto, Roseline Phillipe, Stephanie Richards, and Tori-Lynn Saraniti.
