Florida Governor Rick Scott has appointed Maureen Canada and Sheela VanHoose to the North Broward Hospital District (NBHD) board of commissioners.
Canada is president of Lighthouse Point Marina. She received her associate’s degree from Broward College and her bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Pompano Beach, and will fill a vacant seat to represent District 1.
VanHoose is the director of legislative affairs for Broward County public schools. She received her bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and is pursuing her master’s degree in public administration from Florida Atlantic University. She is a member of the Florida Education Legislative Liaisons and Broward Days. She will represent District 2.
