February 5, 2024 – HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, a 447-bed facility, and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, is pleased to announce the gubernatorial appointment of Dr. Mark McKenney from HCA Florida Kendall Hospital to the Florida Trauma System Advisory Council.
Dr McKenney was appointed with six others. The Council’s mission is to make sure that Florida’s trauma care system continues to be effective, strong and efficient to the needs of the citizens. Members like Dr. McKenney are appointed to represent a wide variety of Trauma settings in the private and not-for-profit sectors. “I am very grateful and honored to serve and contribute. I feel honored to be part of the Council.” said Dr. Mark McKenney.
Dr. McKenney is the Chief of Trauma Surgery and Program Director for the General Surgery Program at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. He currently serves as a member of the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital Board of Trustees. Dr. McKenney earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan.
