HCA Florida Englewood Hospital welcomes Travis Cheney as Vice President of Finance. He brings more than 14 years of taxation, auditing and corporate finance experience

January 17, 2024 – Travis Cheney is joining HCA Florida Englewood Hospital as Vice President of Finance. He brings more than 14 years of taxation, auditing and corporate finance experience.

In his most recent role as Controller with Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice, he supervised the finance team, oversaw month-end closing procedures, coordinated financial statements, review of policies and procedures, and other financial aspects.

‌Prior to that, Travis was a CPA for Rea Logan & Co, in Marion, Indiana. In addition to his accounting role, he launched a paperless initiative. He is a trained auditor and is well-versed in non-for-profit, Yellowbook and government audits.

‌Travis held a position as Controller for Tree of Life Bookstores where he designed and implemented a new accounts receivable reconciliation and billing process resulting in an improvements in accounts receivable from a 90-day average to a 30-day average.

Travis holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s of Professional Accounting both from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

‌When asked what means the most to him about joining Team Englewood, Travis said, “I am excited by positions that allow me to help people even though I’m not on the front line. I know I’m having an impact that is helping others.”

Not only is Travis a busy dad, he is a Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and dabbles in Brazilian Jui Jitsu. He was a competitive swimmer from youth through college.
