June. 5, 2025 – HCA Florida Healthcare has named Joseph “Joe” Gleason Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HCA Florida University Hospital and its affiliated sites of care in South Broward County, effective June 1, 2025.
In his new role, Joe will oversee the 165-bed, all-private room hospital, as well as its affiliated MD Now Urgent Care centers and the soon-to-open freestanding emergency room, HCA Florida City Center, in Pembroke Pines.
“Joe is a proven leader with a passion for driving quality, culture and performance,” said Charles Gressle, President of HCA Healthcare’s East Florida Division. “He brings with him a strong history of success in hospital operations, physician and colleague engagement and strategic service line growth.”
Joe has served HCA Healthcare for over two decades, most recently serving as CEO of HCA Florida Highlands Hospital in Sebring, Florida. Under his leadership, Joe played a pivotal role in expanding key service lines and launching impactful programs in the Treasure Coast market.
Prior to that, Joe served as the Chief Operating Officer of TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville Tennessee, and previously as Associate Administrator at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. While at Redmond, Joe launched the facility’s first Comprehensive Lung Nodule Program, established a comprehensive robotic center, and oversaw multiple accreditations and certifications, including chest pain center accreditation, Joint Commission designation, and total joint and spine certifications.
Gleason earned his Bachelor of Health Science degree and Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Scranton, and he holds a Master of Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University.
