Dr Ricardo Estape

This extraordinary achievement represents more than just a number – it reflects lives changed, families healed and a stronger, healthier community. Over the course of his career with HCA Florida Institute for Gynecologic Oncology, a part of HCA Florida Healthcare, Dr. Estape has helped thousands of patients return to the lives they love, often during their most vulnerable moments.

“Reaching this milestone is humbling,” said Dr. Estape. “It’s always been about the people. Every patient I see has a story and I am honored to be part of their healing journey.”

As Dr. Estape celebrates this milestone, we also celebrate his patients that made it possible – patients from all over Florida, the United States and around the world who placed their trust in him, colleagues who support his work and a shared mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care.

HCA Florida Institute for Gynecologic Oncology’s care team also includes Barbara Yuen, RN, an experienced robotic director who has assisted Dr. Estape with all 10,000 cases. Dr. Enrique Prada has been Dr. Estape’s surgical assistant for a majority of the robotic surgeries. They have both been working alongside Dr. Estape for over 20 years.

Robotic surgery offers several benefits for both the patients and surgeons, especially in procedures that require precision and control. Dr. Estape performs robotic surgeries at six HCA Florida Healthcare facilities: HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, HCA Florida JFK Hospital, HCA Florida JFK North Hospital and HCA Florida Palms West Hospital.

Here are the key advantages to robotic surgery:
