Dr. Bustamante brings his experience to HCA Florida University Hospital and Westside Regional Medical Center, expanding both facilities’ cardio-vascular care
February 22, 2022 – HCA Florida Healthcare’s Broward County facilities today announce the addition of Dr. Rafael Bustamante, MD as a vascular surgery specialist. In this role, Dr. Bustamante will lead vascular surgery at HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie, Fla., and Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Fla.
Building upon both facilities’ strong cardio-vascular programs, Dr. Bustamante will provide specialty care in treating conditions and diseases of the blood vessels through both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Bustamante holds his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. After completing his internships and residency at some of the nation’s most respected programs, Dr. Bustamante went on to complete his fellowship in vascular surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Prior to joining HCA Florida Healthcare, Dr. Bustamante was a vascular surgeon with Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
