February 7, 2025 – HCA Florida Highlands Hospital, a 126-bed HCA Florida Healthcare facility, is proud to participate in National Wear Red Day, joining millions of people across the country in support of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) efforts to raise awareness about heart disease and encourage healthy living.
National Wear Red Day serves as a reminder that heart disease remains the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. The day encourages people to wear red to show solidarity in the fight against this health threat and to promote awareness of its risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking.
“We are committed to helping our community take proactive steps towards heart health,” said Dr. Brian Triola, an interventional cardiologist affiliated with HCA Florida Highlands Hospital. “By participating in National Wear Red Day, we hope to inspire individuals to take action, such as knowing their blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It’s a simple but vital step towards reducing the risk of heart disease.”
