February 10, 2025 – HCA Florida Highlands Hospital, a 126-bed HCA Florida Healthcare facility, recently completed a new state-of-the-art ultrasound procedure to diagnose certain lung and chest conditions.
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) is a minimally-invasive procedure to provide real-time imaging of the airways and surrounding tissues, enabling doctors to more accurately diagnose lung cancer, infections, and other respiratory disorders.
“Introducing this cutting-edge technology is a huge step forward for our hospital and for our patients,” said Dr. Toribio Lugo, a pulmonologist affiliated with HCA Florida Highlands Hospital. “The ability to perform EBUS procedures in-house significantly improves our diagnostic capabilities and will help us provide quicker, more accurate results to our patients, which is crucial for effective treatment.”
