May 16, 2024 – HCA Florida JFK North Hospital is proud to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month in May. To show our support, our staff proudly sported their green attire throughout the hospital on national get your green on day. Green is the national color of mental health acceptance. It represents hope, strength, support, and encouragement for people who live with mental illness.
HCA Florida JFK North Hospital is pleased to partner with NAMI of Palm Beach County and the Get Your Green On Campaign by turning Palm Beach county green! This year we made green HCA Florida Healthcare shirts and the staff collected donations to provide to NAMI of Palm Beach County. Last week was also Hospital week and we celebrated with our staff by having a green bar with salsa verde, guacamole and green queso!
In continuation of mental health awareness month this Friday, May 24th from 12:30-2:00pm HCA Florida JFK North Hospital will be hosting a picnic where we will have therapy ponies for our staff and our patients.
In Pony Therapy, equines (horses or ponies) provide psycho-social, emotional and physical benefits for a variety of people. Ponies are sentient beings, and have a special emotional intelligence and tend to mirror humans which can teach us a lot about ourselves, and bring a variety of benefits.
