February 12, 2025 – The staff at HCA Florida JFK North Hospital had the joy of welcoming Nicole, a Daisy from the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. She not only delivered delicious Girl Scout cookies for our team to enjoy but also got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work in a hospital.

Nicole shared her dreams of becoming a leader and entrepreneur, which deeply resonated with HCA Florida JFK North Hospital’s CEO, Ashley Vertuno. Seeing so much of herself in this bright and determined young girl, Ashley gave Nicole a special tour – allowing her to step into the shoes of a CEO for the day! She even gifted Nicole a special patch to add to her Girl Scout sash.
During her visit, Nicole, her mom and Elle Harrigan, Advancement Officer of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida met with nurses, physicians, and a variety of hospital staff, getting a true glimpse into the world of healthcare. Nicole even received her very first stethoscope from one of our physicians, Dr. Martinez! Watching her excitement as she fulfilled her dream of experiencing hospital life was truly inspiring.
We are proud to partner with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida to create opportunities like these—because empowering future leaders starts today!
