February 9, 2024 – HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, a 435-bed full-service acute care facility and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, recently hosted a heartwarming Teddy Bear Clinic drawing an enthusiastic crowd of more than 500 attendees. The event promoted healthcare in a playful and educational setting while fostering positive experiences in a hospital setting for children and their families.
“We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to our Teddy Bear Clinic,” said HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital Chief Executive Officer Eric Goldman. “It was great to see so many families come together to learn about Lawnwood Hospital in a fun and playful way.”
The Teddy Bear Clinic provided a unique opportunity for children to bring their beloved stuffed animals for a check-up and learn about medicine in a friendly environment. Children had the chance to engage in hands-on activities that demystified medical procedures and alleviated any fears about visiting a hospital.
Attendees embarked on facility tours and got an up-close look at one of St. Lucie County Air Rescue’s helicopters. The Fort Pierce Police Department was also onsite for the event with a police car and the St. Lucie County Fire District brought a truck for kids to tour.
