January 9, 2024 – HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, a 488-bed facility, and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marilu Madrigal to the position of chief medical officer (CMO).
Madrigal brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare serving in clinical and leadership roles, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Most recently, she was in private practice with Femwell Group Health – Gynecologic Oncology, located on the campus of HCA Florida Mercy Hospital. A former member of Mercy’s board of trustees, from 1999 through 2011, Madrigal has been in practice at Mercy since 1997.
Madrigal earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed residency programs at the University of Miami School of Medicine’s Sylvester Cancer Center, including one in obstetrics and gynecology and another in gynecologic oncology.
