While this was the surgical team’s 100th robotic-assisted procedure using this special technology, half of them were completed by Dr. Justin Muskovich, a urologist affiliated with HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, whose 50th procedure also coincided with this occasion.

The robot’s one-of-a-kind technology combines a camera with ultrasound imaging. This allows the surgeon to view the prostate in real time, promoting greater precision when determining which parts of the prostate tissue to remove with a heat-free waterjet.
“This resource is a wonderful addition to the Treasure Coast community. Not only is it a quick procedure with a shorter recovery time, but it heavily decreases the risk of harming sexual and urinary function. It also achieves our goal of protecting the bladder long term” said Dr. Muskovich.
