March 16, 2023 – Terry Brown is retiring as chief financial officer (CFO) of HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, a 207-bed acute care facility located in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mr. Brown plans to retire in April after more than 40 years in healthcare operations – over 30 of them with HCA Healthcare. “Terry has been an absolute pleasure to work with and he will be missed by our colleagues at St. Lucie,” said Jay Finnegan, chief executive officer of HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital. “I have valued his integrity, experience, respectful manner, and wit.”

During Mr. Brown’s time as CFO, he has been instrumental in the success of the hospital, leading to capital investment approval for numerous renovation and expansion projects as well as investments in advanced patient care technology. His most recent accomplishment includes acquiring approval for St. Lucie’s $72 million-dollar expansion proposal of its North Tower, which will include a 34-bed medical/surgical unit on its fourth floor, and an expansion of maternity services on its fifth floor.

Mr. Brown has been with St. Lucie for the past three years. Prior to his current role, he served as chief financial officer of HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital and HCA’s Crestwood Medical Center, as controller of HCA’s Knollwood Park Hospital, and as the chief executive officer of a national healthcare recruiting company. He began his career with HCA as an auditor upon graduating from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1982.
