October 31, 2023– HCA Florida University Hospital, a 165-bed facility, and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, celebrated the 163rd birthday of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low with a special patient gift basket.

The gift basket, prepared by Girl Scouts from Troop 19920 out of Davie, was filled with essentials and thoughtful gifts for the first newborn girl born on Low’s birthday. The gift basket included toys, diapers, wipes, and a custom “Future Girl Scout” onesie.

Fred’dreyana was born on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 3:52 a.m. “This is so special. I had no idea I would receive this after I had my baby, said mom Tanzaia.

“We are excited to celebrate Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday by honoring her spirit of service,” said Robin Mason, who is the Patient Safety Director for HCA Florida University Hospital and a member of Girl Scout Troop 19920. “This special gift basket is a symbol of the kindness and generosity that are at the heart of Girl Scouts’ mission. We hope that it brings joy and comfort to the newborn and her family.”

The HCA Healthcare Foundation proudly continues to deepen the partnership with Girl Scouts both nationally and locally, said Ellice Martinez, assistant vice president of community engagement at HCA Healthcare’s East Florida Division. “The HCA Healthcare Foundation recently announced the support of the new Girl Scouts Mental Wellness Patch Programs to address mental wellness among girls in 4th through 12th grade.”

The Girl Scouts are a leading organization for girls, with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, the organization empowers young girls and provides them with opportunities for leadership, personal growth, and community service.
