December 19, 2022HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital has recently achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery, recognized for providing the highest quality of care and patient safety by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).

Status as an accredited Center of Excellence means that Woodmont Hospital has met nationally and internationally recognized standards in providing the safest, highest quality of care and surgical services. To earn the Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence accreditation, Woodmont Hospital underwent an extensive assessment and inspection process where all aspects of the robotic surgical program were closely examined.

Surgeons on staff at Woodmont Hospital have performed more than 5,000 robotic-assisted procedures.

“HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital is committed to investing in the most advanced technologies and being the hospital of choice for both patients and surgeons in all of South Florida.” Ben Harris, HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital Chief Executive Officer.  “We want our patients to know that they are in the best possible hands when they come to Woodmont. Our robotic surgical teams are available 24/7, 365 days a year to deliver the highest quality of care and outcomes.”

Robotic surgery allows surgeons to perform some of the most complex, delicate procedures through very small incisions. The surgery is performed entirely by the surgeon controlling the robotic surgery system which translates all hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body, leading to less harm to surrounding tissues. As a result, patients have reported experiencing less pain and scarring and are able to get back to their normal activities sooner.
