February 27, 2023HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital is proud to announce the all-new Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center and has partnered with a team of dedicated specialists in the field of wound care and hyperbaric medicine.

“At HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital, we are dedicated to the care and improvement of human life. We saw not only an opportunity but a need for improved, specialized wound care in our community. The goal of our advanced program is to prevent or delay limb loss and provide our patients with their best quality of life. I cannot think of a better way to improve human life than to continue expanding our services and become the premier destination for wound care in South Florida.” Ben Harris, HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital Chief Executive Officer.

Located just next door to the hospital campus, the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center offers advanced modalities including negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, mechanical and enzymatic debridement, total-contact casting, multi-layer compression therapy, and tissue infection management.

In addition, the center is currently home to two hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivers 100% pure oxygen to patients under increased atmospheric pressure. The extremely effective, cutting-edge medical treatment can improve quality of life by helping even the most advanced wounds heal faster.

“Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, when used appropriately for complicated, chronic open wounds, can be an excellent adjunct to wound healing. At the HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, we hope to offer this advanced therapy to patients who are at risk for limb loss including those with diabetic foot ulcers and chronic refractory bone infection. There are many other Medicare-approved indications which we will be able to assess on the initial patient consult but our goal is to help patients heal as quickly as possible so they can regain their life back.” Han Pham Hulen, MD, UHM/ABPM.

When patients are referred to the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital, their primary care provider remains an active member of the wound care management team, collaborating with the center’s exclusive wound care physicians to provide superior outcomes.

HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital has appointed Safia Ali, MD, and Han Pham Hulen, MD, UHM/ABPM as the center’s Medical Directors.
