October 2, 2023 — The Health Care District of Palm Beach County invites the media to a ribbon cutting ceremony next Monday, October 10th at its Delray Community Health Center, one of the healthcare system’s 10 community health center locations across the county. The ribbon cutting officially marks the health center’s relocation this summer to a new larger, modern facility across the street from the previous location in the Florida Department of Health building. This location will also expand the Health Care District’s outpatient addiction treatment program and provide psychiatric care to adults struggling with mental health issues and substance use disorders. Florida Atlantic University’s Psychiatry Residency Program will also be serving patients at this location as a part of the residents’ training.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the Delray Community Health Center accepts all adult patients with or without insurance and regardless of ability to pay. Services include adult primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health care, outpatient addiction treatment, women’s health care, on-site pharmacy and referrals for labs, diagnostics and specialty care. The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is a special taxpayer-funded district that has served as a healthcare safety net for 35 years to fill in gaps in access to healthcare services. The Health Care District’s 10 Federally Qualified Health Centers across the county serve adults and children with or without insurance and regardless of ability to pay. The Health Care District also operates three mobile clinics that provide medical services for the homeless and the underserved. In 2022, the clinics served 39,000 unique adult and pediatric patients who received high-qualify comprehensive health services.
