From Aug. 3 to Aug. 9, daily community activities will highlight Healthcare Network’s commitment to accessible healthcare for all
July 30, 2025 – Healthcare Network, Collier County’s only Federally Qualified Health Center, is thrilled to announce a week-long celebration of National Health Center Week from Aug. 3 to Aug. 9. This annual event, organized by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), aims to increase awareness of the significant role of America’s 1,500 Community Health Centers in providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to 32.5 million patients nationwide. This year, Community Health Centers, like Healthcare Network, celebrate 60 years of caring for the most vulnerable communities, including 10 percent of the U.S. population.
Founded in Immokalee, Healthcare Network is set to host a variety of activities throughout the week to engage with the community and highlight its commitment to providing healthcare access to all Southwest Florida residents.
Monday, Aug. 4 – Staff Appreciation Day
To celebrate its dedicated staff, Healthcare Network will provide lunch from Immokalee-based company Taco Tummy to each office on a designated day during the week-long celebration, recognizing their hard work, commitment and service.
Tuesday, Aug. 5 – Patient Appreciation Day
Healthcare Network will show its gratitude to patients and their families by offering a selection of snacks to choose from at all practice locations throughout the day, ensuring they know they are valued and appreciated.
Wednesday, Aug. 6 – Health Conditions Focus Day
To raise awareness about chronic health conditions, special guest Dr. Leandro Perez will appear on “Conectando a La Comunidad,” a Spanish-language radio segment led by the Healthcare Network Community Outreach Team. Dr. Perez will discuss complications related to hypertension and high cholesterol, helping educate farmworker families and the Spanish-speaking community through this trusted community platform. Tune in to listen on 107.7 FM or the Radio Conciencia app.
Thursday, Aug. 7 – Population Focus Day
Food drives will be held at all Healthcare Network practices to support underserved and vulnerable families and individuals. All contributions will benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank, helping to combat food insecurity across Collier County.
Friday, Aug. 8 – Partner Appreciation Day
Community partners play a vital role in creating more access to care. Their ongoing support and collaboration will be highlighted on social media, thanking them for the meaningful impact they make every day at Healthcare Network and in the community.
Saturday, Aug. 9 – Gratitude and Future Vision Day
Healthcare Network is the presenting sponsor of the 2025 Lipman Backpack Giveaway and Back to School Event. Held at the Immokalee High School football stadium from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., this event will support children’s health and readiness for the upcoming school year. With the participation of 50 Healthcare Network volunteers, 1,900 backpacks filled with essential school supplies will be distributed.
