Board of Directors retains national search firm

December 15, 2021 –
Healthcare Network, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) working to ensure primary medical care is accessible to everyone in our community, today announced Dr. Emily Ptaszek, president and chief executive officer, has notified the board of her decision to resign from her position, taking place in early spring of 2022.  Ptaszek is stepping down to become president and CEO of a large FQHC in Colorado, serving approximately 100,000 patients annually. The board will work with a national executive search firm to advise on potential CEO candidates.

“This has been a difficult decision as I leave behind a strong and talented executive team, a supportive board with great expertise, and dedicated and patient-centered staff,” said Ptaszek. “I am grateful for the many life-changing relationships I have built here at Healthcare Network and in our community. I have complete trust in the leadership team and board and know that the organization is poised for not only great success but also great impact. Serving as CEO has been a tremendous privilege and has taught me that serving the health center mission is core to my personal and professional values.”

Ptaszek joined Healthcare Network in 2013 as chief psychologist charged with developing the organization’s integrated behavioral healthcare program and subsequently served as vice president of operations and chief operating officer. In 2019, she was appointed president and CEO. With an MBA and a Doctor of Psychology, Ptaszek has developed a reputation as a highly collaborative leader within the organization and throughout the community.

“I know this has been a tough decision for Emily and the board is sad to see her move on. At the same time, we are so grateful for her significant contributions to the organization and community over the last eight years,” said Haris Domond, chairman of the board for Healthcare Network. “Under Emily’s leadership we built a strong foundation for future growth, including strengthening our team, improving our operations, and building vital community collaborations that have furthered our reach to those in need and helped us successfully navigate through the pandemic. Because of Emily’s transformational leadership, Healthcare Network will continue to thrive for many years to come.”
