November 13, 2023 – Healthcare Network is pleased to announce it has received a $27,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation. These funds will support the organization’s Maternal and Child Health Outreach and Education program which provides maternal and infant health education to marginalized populations, partially those who speak little to no English. The funds will be used to create educational videos on critical health topics including maternal health, nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, postpartum depression and child development in Spanish, Haitian Creole and English to ensure optimal health for high-risk populations including those who are not literate in any language.

“This generous support will empower our Maternal and Child Health Outreach and Education program, allowing us to impact more marginalized populations, particularly those with limited English proficiency, said Healthcare Network President and CEO Jamie Ulmer. “By delivering content in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and English, we aim to bridge language barriers and enhance access to vital health information. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring optimal health outcomes for high-risk populations.”

The Collier Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Community Impact Fund. This Fund is made up of donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to identify and grant funds to the community’s most current needs.
