April 13, 2026 – HCA Florida Highlands Hospital announced Henry Capote has been named chief executive officer, effective April 13, 2026.

Capote most recently served as chief financial officer of HCA Florida Highlands Hospital. “Henry brings more than 20 years of healthcare finance and leadership experience to this role, along with a strong track record of operational excellence and strategic growth,” said Charles Gressle, president of HCA’s East Florida division. “His leadership has been instrumental in positioning Highlands for continued success and growth.”

Prior to joining HCA Florida Highlands Hospital, Henry served as CFO at Coral Gables Hospital, where he contributed to the development of a freestanding emergency department, expanded robotic-assisted surgery capabilities, and achieved consistent financial growth. Earlier in his career, he held progressive finance leadership roles across South Florida, building a strong foundation in healthcare operations and financial management.

Capote earned a master’s of business administration in management/leadership and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association, and the Highlands County Economic Development Committee.
