Hialeah Hospital names Rossana Lopez, M.D., the medical director of the hospital’s newly opened Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. Dr. Lopez is board certified in internal medicine and has extensive research experience in medicine, including geriatrics and schizophrenia. Prior to joining Hialeah Hospital, Dr. Lopez had a private practice where she specialized in psychiatry and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Lopez completed her fellowship in geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatric medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Her residency in internal medicine and general psychiatry took place at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. She obtained her medical degree at the Medical School Universidad del Este, San Pedro De Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Lopez is bilingual in both English and Spanish, and she has been practicing medicine since 1985.
