High school students from Zion Lutheran in Deerfield Beach and Cardinal Gibbons, St. Thomas Aquinas and Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale recently participated in the Nursing Consortium of South Florida’s annual Day in the Life of a Nurse program, hosted by Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale for the 11th consecutive year.The full-day program was conducted for students to learn about nursing careers by touring key hospital departments and participating in various activities, including a skills lab where students interacted with a simulated patient and learned about infection control, CPR, care of newborns, surgical protocols and wound care, among other nursing skills.
