Holy Cross Hospital is proud to announce it is a recipient of the American Cancer Society, Florida Division’s Community Education Grant Program to Address Cancer Disparities, FY 2011-12. This award will be used to support the implementation of the Partners in Breast Health Program.
This grant funded partnership with the American Cancer Society will support the health and cancer needs of our community by reducing late stage breast cancer diagnosis in underserved communities. One thousand eligible people, ages forty and older, will receive one-on-one breast health education and a screening mammogram.
The Holy Cross Mobile Medical Health Unit will visit underserved communities in Broward County. A physician or nurse practitioner will see clients on board and conduct general health exams, clinical breast exams and provide a prescription for screening mammograms while on board.
