Company to sponsor Tampa, Greater Orlando and Broward County events

June 14, 2021 – During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology company iN2L provided the state of Florida with tablets to help connect socially-isolated seniors with their loved ones through Project VITAL (Virtual Inclusive Technology for All). Now, the company is building on that support by joining the Alzheimer’s Association as a 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s sponsor in Tampa, Greater Orlando and Broward County.

“IN2L is honored to sponsor the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s,” said Allison Hart, vice president of marketing for iN2L. “The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers while also supporting critically-needed research. As a company dedicated to improving the lives of older adults and working with organizations to provide direct care and support for hundreds of thousands of older adults daily, we are aware of the dramatic impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals, families and communities and are committed to ongoing support of this important cause.”
Angela McAuley, regional leader for the Florida chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, said: “Over the past year, the iN2L team has really stepped up in support of Florida’s older adult population. Now, with this sponsorship, they are providing hope to the more than 580,000 Floridians living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have them supporting us in our mission.”

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Although last year’s event was mainly virtual due to COVID-19, the Alzheimer’s Association is moving forward with plans to host the event in person this fall.

“As we continue monitoring the pandemic, the health and safety of Walk to End Alzheimer’s participants, volunteers and staff remain our top priorities,” McAuley said. “While we intend to gather in person, we will also offer options to participate online and in communities across the country.”

The Greater Orlando, Broward County and Tampa Walks to End Alzheimer’s are scheduled for Oct. 23, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, respectively. For more information and to receive the latest updates on this year’s Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, visit alz.org/walk.
