During the May 2007 Public Health Trust Board of Trustees meeting, two employees were honored with Achiever Awards by Marvin O’Quinn, president & CEO, Jackson Health System, and Ernesto de la Fé, chairman, Public Health Trust Board of Trustees.

Guadalupe Garcia, a support associate at Jackson South Community Hospital, received the May 2007 Achiever Award for Teamwork and Communication. Garcia began her career in the Jackson Health System in 2003 at the Jackson Memorial Perdue Medical Center. In 2005, she transferred to Jackson South, where her mission has been to make the hospital experience better for her patients and to show them that they are not alone.

Luisa Suarez, a support associate in the Women’s Center at Jackson South Community Hospital, was recognized with an Achiever Award for Service Excellence and Quality. She came to Jackson Health System in 1998 where she got her start in the Jackson Pediatric Center. In 2002, Suarez transferred to the Women’s Center at Jackson South where she strives to provide the best service to her patients.
