On August 31, 2023, Jackson Health System and community leaders celebrated the opening of Jackson;s sixth UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Center in Coral Gables this morning. The urgent center’s ribbon cutting ceremony – located at 3737 S.W. Eight St., in Coral Gables – marks an incredible milestone in the Jackson Miracle-Building Bond, which was approved by Miami-Dade County voters nearly 10 years ago.

“When we open these doors to patients in and around Coral Gables, we will have completed the last major project funded through that bond,” said Carlos A. Migoya, Jackson’s CEO. “It’s fitting that we celebrate this moment with the opening of this urgent care center because one of the bond’s promises was to bring our care closer to Miami-Dade County’s families.”

The new urgent care center brings culmination to the 2013 bond, which prioritized delivering more than $2 billion worth of capital investment, revitalizing Jackson’s facilities and expanding our footprint in the community.

The Coral Gables urgent center, which will open to the public on Tuesday, September 5, will be operate seven days a week, 365 days a year, and will be staffed by board-certified physicians and expert nurses. The urgent center will also have a specialty medical office right next door.

In addition to this new urgent care center, Jackson has locations in Country Walk, Keystone Point, Cutler Bay, Doral and North Dade. Jackson’s urgent care network was the first in Florida to be designated autism-friendly by the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. With this designation, Jackson staff are specially trained, and each of Jackson’s facilities have a designated sensory-friendly exam room to give all patients the opportunity to experience health care in a safe and controlled environment.

The Coral Gables urgent care center will start seeing patients next Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.
