 November 9, 2022 – Neurosurgeon Jason Liounakos, M.D., joins Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Liounakos specializes in spinal neurosurgery. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Liounakos joined Miami Neuroscience Institute from the University of Miami and Jackson Health System where he completed his residency in neurological surgery with fellowship training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.

Prior to his neurosurgical training, he graduated first in his class from the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine where he received the Florida Board of Medicine Chairman’s Recognition Award in 2015. During residency, he obtained the highest neurosurgery primary board examination score in the program’s history and upon graduation was awarded the Sanjiv Bhatia, M.D. Distinction in Leadership and Service Award, and Best Resident Teacher Award.

Dr. Liounakos is active in research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He has lectured nationally on minimally invasive techniques and robot-assisted spine surgery.

He will see patients at the Miami Neuroscience Institute at 6200 Sunset Dr., Suite 130, South Miami, FL 33143.
