Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Florida, Dr. Vanatta was director of liver transplantation at the Methodist University Transplant Institute in Memphis, TN. He served as a transplant surgeon at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN, and St. Thomas Health in Nashville, TN. He also served as a general surgeon at Stanford Hospital and Clinics in Palo Alto, CA, and as an Associate Professor for the Department of Surgery in the Division of Transplantation at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

 

Dr. Vanatta graduated magna cum laude at MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Vanatta completed his surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and a fellowship in multi-organ abdominal transplantation at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, where he also served as a clinical instructor in general surgery.
