May 21, 2026 – Our agency is proud to share that President & CEO, Miriam Singer, was recently honored with the prestigious United HomeCare – Claude Pepper Education & Advocacy Honoree Award!
This recognition celebrates Miriam’s outstanding leadership, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to strengthening our community through collaboration, compassion, and service.
Over the past several years, Miriam has helped lead critical community responses during some of South Florida’s most challenging moments, from supporting families impacted by the Surfside tragedy, to mobilizing emergency assistance during times of financial instability, including last year’s temporary pause in SNAP benefits, to bringing together 60+ nonprofit and community-based organizations through The Advocacy Collective to successfully advocate for the full restoration of Miami-Dade County funding for CBOs in the 2025 budget, helping preserve essential services for vulnerable individuals and families across Miami-Dade County.
In accepting the award, Miriam reflected on Jewish values, and the power of partnership and collective action.
“Miriam’s leadership, compassion, and tireless advocacy continues to strengthen and uplift our community. This recognition is a testament to her extraordinary commitment to bringing people together to support those who need it most,” said JCS Board Chair Vanessa Ressler.
Please join us in congratulating Miriam on this well-deserved recognition!
